Cosmetic composition for topical application for the treatment of keratinous matters i.e. fibers, particularly hair, comprises a monosaccharide and/or disaccharide, an alpha hydroxy acid and a ceramide type compound, in a medium. An independent claim is included for a treatment process of keratin materials, such as hair, comprising application of the composition on the material and optionally rinsing with water.
