APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR GENERATING LLR IN MIMO COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

An apparatus for generating LLR(Log Likelihood Ratio) in an multiple antenna communication system and a method thereof are provided to generate the LLR with high reliability and low complexity in an MIMO(Multiple Input Multiple Output) system which uses two antennas. An apparatus for generating LLR(Log Likelihood Ratio) in an multiple antenna communication system comprises determining units(202-1-M), distance calculators(204-1-M) and an LLR calculator(206). The determining units estimate plural candidate transmission vectors by using an MML(Modified Maximum Likelihood) decoding procedure. The distance calculators calculate Euclidean distances regarding the calculated candidate transmission vectors, respectively. The LLR calculator calculates the LLRs by using the calculated Euclidean distances.
