The invention relates to a composition for immune activation which comprises bacterial cells of bifidobacteria belonging to Bifidobacterium bifidum with an inducing ability of secretory substance production and a high inducing ability of IgA production, such as Bifidobacterium bifidum OLB6377 strain or Bifidobacterium bifidum OLB 6378 strain, or a substance obtained by treating the bacterial cells alone or in combination of a plurality of them and is useful for promoting production of IgA and a sectetory substance in a mucosal tissue.
