A height adjustable range hood for kitchen is provided to allow the range hood to remove smoke and food odors by descending the height adjustable range hood in a predetermined height when cooking, thereby maximizing ventilation effect. A height adjustable range hood for kitchen comprises a support frame(10), a body unit(20), a height adjusting unit(30), a hood plate(40), a wire control device, and a hood frame(60). The support frame is rectangular, and is secured on a wall or a ceiling. The body unit is secured in the center of the support frame, downwardly long-shaped, having a predetermined size of through hole inside, a control panel(22) on the lower front side and an opening on the upper left and right sides, wherein each opening is equipped with a blower(24) and a motor(25). The height adjusting unit is inserted to a lower end of the body unit, vertically long-shaped, having a predetermined size of blow hole vertically penetrating the inside. The hood plate is placed on the lower side of the height adjusting unit, downwardly curved to the left and right, having predetermined size of length and width. The wire control device is placed on the back side of the body unit for winding or unwinding a wire(100) connected to the hood plate. The hood frame is placed on the bottom surface of the hood plate, having at least more than one grille and lamp. The height adjusting unit comprises a projection placed on the upper side having a predetermined thickness to the outside, a connection plate across the blow hole, a connection device connecting the motor and the connection plate, and a limit switch positioned on the bottom of the body unit, capable of controlling the ascent/descent of the height adjusting unit.
