A digital broadcasting program beginning automatic information device that a user desires and a method for controlling the same are provided to store desired broadcasting programs by a user, confirm current time and broadcasting schedules, and alarm automatically the start time of the broadcasting program so that a user is able to watch a desired broadcasting program without remembering broadcasting schedules. A digital broadcasting program beginning automatic information device that a user desires comprises the followings: a broadcasting receiving unit(10) for receiving a broadcasting program information signal and a broadcasting signal from a broadcasting station through an antenna(1); a key input unit(20) for inputting a broadcasting reservation command signal and a desired broadcasting selection by key manipulation of a user; a memory(30) for storing a control program, a broadcasting program in which reservation is selected by a user, and broadcasting program information; a microcomputer(40) for outputting a control signal; an alarm unit(50) for alarming start of the reservation-selected program; and a channel selection unit(60) for maintaining or switching current receiving broadcasting program.
