Interface for consumer electronics devices

The method involves providing a hand shake between interconnected entertainment electronic devices (TV, P1) e.g. DVD recorder, during the start-up and/or the connection of the entertainment electronic devices. Command phrases of the interconnected devices are exchanged among the interconnected devices, and a new command phrase is regrouped from the command phrases, where inputs of a user take place via an operating unit, which is assigned to one of the interconnected devices. An independent claim is also included for a system comprising devices of the entertainment electronics with an externally accessible interface.
