A system and a method for providing reception unavailable information to a calling mobile communication terminal are provided to transmit information about reception unavailable to the mobile communication terminal of a caller according to the reception unavailable information set by the receiver when the mobile communication terminal of a receiver can not make a call due to a reception unavailable state, thereby checking a call unavailable cause and information about when to make a call. A system for providing reception unavailable information comprises the followings: a called MSC(Mobile Switching Center)(300) which transmits reception unavailable information inputted through a called mobile communication terminal(100) to a message transmitting device; a message transmitting device(400) which includes an SMSC(Short Message Service Center) and an LMSC(Long Message Service Center) and transmits the reception unavailable information transmitted from the called MSC; a server(500) which edits and makes out reception unavailable information based on the reception unavailable information by interworking with the message transmitting device and provides the reception unavailable information to a calling mobile communication terminal(200) via a calling MSC(700); and a called HLR(Home Location Register)(600) which transmits a signal for requesting a reception unavailable information providing service for a state checkup request signal, received from the calling MSC, to the server.
