An inner surface joint welding apparatus for small caliber type steel pipes, which considerably reduces costs for manufacturing, using and managing the apparatus, and performs the inner surface welding of the steel pipes more easily by constructing the apparatus in such a structure that is suitable for inner surface welding of the small caliber type steel pipes and is simple as a whole, is provided. An inner surface joint welding apparatus for small caliber type steel pipes comprises: a main car frame(10) on which an automatic welder(50) for welding the inner surfaces of steel pipes is mounted, and at which transfer mechanisms(20,30,40) are installed to move the automatic welder in horizontal, vertical and rotating directions within the steel pipes; a transfer car frame(60) which is connected to the rear of the main car frame, and which has a welding supporting equipment and a control equipment mounted on an upper part thereof to operate the automatic welder and the transfer mechanisms; an automatic traveling mechanism installed on the bottom of the main car frame and the transfer car frame to enable the apparatus to travel automatically; and a remote operation controller(8) connected to the control equipment of the transfer car frame to operate a welding system from the outside.
