A door frame for use with a door leaf having a pivot 3 which is spaced from the door frame comprises two posts 4a, 4b and a lintel. At least one of the posts has a projection 5 arranged such that in use a gap (a) between the door leaf and the post remains substantially constant when the leaf is pivoted. The projection 5 preferably forms the shorter leg of the L-shaped post, has an outer curved surface and extends along the length of the post. An inclined surface 8 of the post may be provided to act a stop for the leaf. The fame preferably includes resilient clip-on cladding (13, Figure 3), a projections (9) to receive strike plate (10) and a recess (11) to receive seals (12). A hydraulic door closer may be mounted inside the lintel. The door leaf is preferably pivotally mounted on a floor plate, and has curved surfaces 14, 15 adjacent the post. One of the curved surfaces may be defined by a projection 15 attached along the length of the leaf such that the gap (b) between another surface of the door and the frame remains substantially constant in use. The arrangement helps prevent fingers and dirt being trapped. |
