A liquid crystal display apparatus is provided to improve uniformity of brightness by driving light emitting units long in an edge area with low brightness in comparison with a center area. A liquid crystal display apparatus comprises a liquid crystal display panel(140) including gate lines and data lines crossed with the gate lines, and a light emitting unit(152) for generating light with different colors corresponding to each field. The light emitting time of light emitting units which are closely installed in an edge area is longer than the light emitting time of light emitting units which are installed in the center area.
