A device for controlling power by detecting vibration of a device and a control method thereof are provided to manage effectively the power of a monitor or a television installed in a device which is not always used, thereby saving electricity and lengthening the life of the monitor or the television. A device for controlling power by detecting vibration of a device comprises the followings: a vibration sensor for sensing the vibration of the installed device; a controller for properly controlling power output by sensing the vibration of the installed device; and a power on/off relay for turning on/off power according to a control signal of the controller. In order to sense the vibration of the device, the power control device is configured with the vibration sensor.
