A semiconductor memory device for performing address multiplexing is provided to reduce the number of address pins by comprising a row address storing circuit receiving a row address by dividing the row address. According to a semiconductor memory device including an array(100) of memory cells arranged in a matrix of rows and columns, a row address buffer receives a row address to select one of the rows. A row address storing circuit(240) stores a plurality of address bit groups in sequence through the row address buffer, and the plurality of address bit groups is obtained by dividing the row address. A row decoder circuit(260) selects one row in response to a row address outputted from the row address storing circuit.
