<p>The method involves determining material thickness e.g. paper thickness, of a layer of materials to be folded, and determining production type defining data. Product size of products is determined from the material thickness and the production type defining data by an audio video-processor. The data are transferred to the processor. Operating distance of folding flaps (21, 22) of a folding apparatus is adjusted depending on the product size of the products. Input of the material thickness is carried out by a roll changer.
