A gas burner comprises a mixing chamber 68, Figures not shown, supplied at one end with air by a bend section 62 into which the air is directed by an orifice 72 so that the air strikes the curved portion of the bend at an angle greater than 45 degrees. Gas is delivered to the mixing chamber through holes 67 in the wall thereof. The orifice 72 is formed in a plate 63 which is movable in its own plane. The major portion of the gas strikes the bend at an angle greater than 65 degrees. The gas supply is controlled by a diaphragm 87 submitted on one side to the pressure of air in the air supply pipe 29 so that the gas/air ratio is maintained constant when the supply of air is altered by an air valve 80. The mixture is ignited by a spark plug 59. |
