A counterflow preventing device for a hermetic compressor is provided to hinge-couple a discharge valve to a valve seat to be opened or closed by pressure difference and own tare of the valve, thereby improving response speed of the valve and blocking counterflow of discharged refrigerant. A counterflow preventing device for a hermetic compressor includes a casing having a sealed internal space defined into a suction space and a discharge space, and a compression part mounted in the internal space of the casing for compressing refrigerant inhaled in the suction space to discharge the compressed refrigerant to the discharge space. A valve housing(810) is mounted for connecting the discharge space to an outlet pipe(120). A valve seat(820) is mounted in the valve housing and formed with a refrigerant hole(821) in the center. A discharge valve(830) is rotatively mounted to the valve seat and rotates in the valve housing for opening or closing the refrigerant hole of the valve seat, thereby blocking counterflow of the refrigerant discharged to the outlet pipe back to the discharge space. The discharge valve contacts a sealing protrusion(824) of the valve seat linearly for blocking counterflow of the discharged refrigerant.
