Determination of propagation errors

The method involves evaluating two signals transferred through the atmosphere (ION) by using two electromagnetic waves, respectively, where oscillation frequencies of the electromagnetic waves are different. A proportion for the content and/or a density of electrically charged particles is determined from the two signals. The charged particles are used such that a term of dispersion path of a third electromagnetic wave is determined, where the term also depends on the oscillation frequency and magnetic correction parameter for considering the influence of magnetic field of the planet. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for determining an error during propagation of electromagnetic waves in the atmosphere.
