A method for acquiring DNS(Domain Name System) information of a mobile terminal, and a mobile terminal therefor are provided to acquire DNS information regarding a domain desired to be connected even in spite of a network failure or a DNS server failure, and effectively use radio resources. A storage unit(150) stores an IP address corresponding to a domain previously connected through a network in a database. A wireless communication unit(130) performs radio communication through the network. A controller(170) detects an IP(Internet Protocol) address by searching the storage unit for a connection to a particular domain, and when the IP address corresponding to the particular domain does not exist in the storage unit, the controller communicates with a DNS server through the wireless communication unit to acquire the IP address. The controller updates the database of the storage unit according to whether or not the DNS information is acquired through communication with the DNS server.
