A flanged plate-like part 6 is secured to the vehicle interior and carries a pair of contacts 8, 9, having integral arms 10, 11 supporting a double-ended bulb 12. A sliding switch member 13 extends transversely across the part 6 on the opposite side to the arms 10, 11, being pressed towards the part 6 by a resilient arm 16 on a third contact 17. The member 13 carries a connector which in one position connects the contact 9 to the arm 16. The contact 8 is connected to the source of current, the contact 9 is earthed through a switch which closes when the vehicle door is opened and the contact 17 is also earthed. |
