<p>An air conditioner is provided to attenuate noise during the operation of the compressor by preventing the operating frequency of the compressor to be in accord with the natural frequency of an accumulator. An air conditioner(100) comprises a compressor(110), an accumulator, an inverter(111), a detection unit(150), a temperature sensor(170), and a control unit(160). The accumulator is combined to the compressor. The inverter generates a variable frequency to operate the compressor. The detection unit detects an operation frequency of the compressor. The temperature sensor is capable of sensing indoor temperature. The control unit controls the operation frequency by comparing the operation frequency from the detection unit with a resonant operation frequency of the compressor which generates resonance on the accumulator so that the difference between the operation frequency and the resonant operation frequency is to be out of a predetermined range. The control unit is capable of comparing the sensed temperature from the temperature sensor with a set temperature and controlling the variable frequency of the inverter so as to maintain the sensed temperature to be in a predetermined range of the set temperature.</p> |
