An apparatus for forming an image is provided to minimize a device main body and protecting a feeding error of a sheet and double feeding of the sheet by installing an air injecting unit for injecting air to a tail part of the sheet supported by a tray, thereby improving the reliability of a feeding sheet. An apparatus for forming an image comprises the followings: a tray(12) for supporting a sheet; an air injecting unit(30) for injecting air to a tail part of the sheet supported by the tray; a carrying unit(50A) for sucking the raised sheet by the injected air; and a sheet surface detecting unit for detecting an up surface of the raised sheet. The sheet surface detecting unit has a sensing unit which is separated from the carrying unit in an upper direction of a sheet carrying direction and a sensor flag for turning on/off the sensing unit.
