A positioning system wherein a reference station and an observed station are caused to receive radio waves from a satellite so as to perform a relative positioning between those stations, thereby measuring a displacement of the observed station relative to the reference station. The positioning system comprises a short period displacement measuring part for measuring the short period displacement components of the foregoing stations through independent positioning; a relative position calculating part for performing a relative positioning between the foregoing stations; a long period position calculating part that receives the short period displacement components measured by the short period displacement measuring part, the relative position determined by the relative position calculating part and an absolute position from the reference station and that removes the short period displacement component measured by each station, thereby obtaining an absolute position including the long period displacement component; and a wireless communication apparatus provided in each station for transmitting/receiving data to/from the other stations.
