A data communication system, a data reproducing apparatus and a data reproducing method for compensating for data delay, while synchronizing apparatuses that transmit and receive, by use of power lines, data, such as audio signals, visual signals and so on that are continuously reproduced. There are included an audio data receiving part (31) for receiving data transmitted from a data transmitting apparatus; a data buffer (32) for temporarily storing the received data; and a data amount monitoring part (33) for monitoring the amount of stored data. There is also included a voltage control oscillator (34) for outputting an electric signal such that the oscillation frequency is "increased", "maintained" or "reduced" when the monitored data amount is "greater than", "equal to" or "smaller than" a threshold value within a predetermined range. There are also included a D/A converter (35) for reading the data stored in the data buffer (32) in accordance with the electric signal to convert digital signals to analog signals; and an audio data reproducing part (36) for reproducing the converted data.
