An image correction apparatus and an image correction method are provided to uniformly correct brightness in one image. A target detecting unit(101) selects target brightness in the entire image. A mesh generator(102) generates a mesh formed by points of a certain interval. A compensation unit(103) compensates the target brightness in the brightness of the respective points composing the mesh. An interpolation unit(104) estimates the brightness of a place separated at a certain interval from the points, and interpolates the estimated brightness as the target brightness.
