An anode, and a battery containing the anode are provided to relieve the stress due to the expansion and contraction of an anode, thereby preventing the deformation of an anode. An anode(21) comprises an anode active material layer comprising at least one selected from silicon(Si) and tin(Sn) in a strip form at the both sides of an anode current collector, wherein at least one penetration part(21C) of cut-out or slit is formed at the anode current collector and the anode active material layer so as to penetrate them and so as to contain the longitudinal component of the anode current collector. Preferably the extension direction of the penetration part is parallel to the longitudinal direction of the anode current collector or has an angels of 60 degrees to the length direction of the anode current collector. |
