An apparatus for performing animal related operations comprises a robot arm (2) movable in response to a control means, said robot arm (2) being provided wi th a gripper (3) for gripping an animal related means. According to the invention, a sens or means (5, 7, 10, 12) is adapted to establish a location of said animal related means (4a, 4b, 4c).
