<p>A device 10 useful as a nightstick includes a generally linear long member 12 and an attached short member 14. The short member 14 can be curved or otherwise disposed so as to define a slot 26 with a single open end 28. The device includes a handcuff clasp 16 for closing the open end 28 and to thereby define an enclosed portion of the slot 26 between the long member 12 and the short member 14. The handcuff clasp16 is moveable between an open position and a closed position. A trigger 50 is provided proximate to the attachment point between the long member 12 and the short member14. Power means are also provided for closing the slot 26 by rapidly moving the handcuff clasp 16 to the closed position.</p> |
