An apparatus and a method for displaying discount information in a mobile terminal are provided to solve a problem that a user needs to accurately recognize his/her discount time zone and each telephone fee in accordance with discount time in order to benefit from the discount. A mobile terminal checks whether a menu for displaying discount information according to a rate is selected by the user(201). When the menu for displaying discount information is selected, the mobile terminal displays a display list of discount information that can be set on a display unit(203). The mobile terminal checks whether a particular item of the display list is set through key manipulation by the user(205). When an item for displaying discount rates corresponding to each hour on the list is set, the mobile terminal checks discount rates of each hour according to the currently used rate from an SIM(Subscriber Identification Module)(211) and displays the checked discount rate on the display unit(213).
