The present invention is related to a pulley for actuating conveyor belts of the type formed by a cylindrical-shaped tubular section, a rotating axle inserted therein and protruding from both end portions thereof, and a couple of caps located on both end portions thereof. Said cylindrical section comprises recesses located at each end portions, thus increasing the inner diameter thereof and generating an inner annular stopping portion. Said couple of round-shaped caps has a central aperture where the axle end portions are inserted, said portions being inserted into the end portions of the cylindrical-shaped tubular section and brought into abutment with the annular stopping portion. The caps comprise radial protrusions located on the outer surface thereof so that the arms of fixing crosses are fastened and simultaneously inserted into the end portions of the axle. The axle comprises longitudinal grooves for housing a wedge which is coupled to a second groove located at the inner surfa ce of a central ring of the crosses whereby the axle is inserted so as to avoid the assembly to rotate about said axle, this latter element comprising an annular groove where a lock is fixed to maintain the assembly together.
