METHOD OF PREPARING SILVER NANOPARTICLE EMBEDDED POLYMER NANOFIBER USING RADICAL MEDIATED DISPERSION POLYMERIZATION

A method for manufacturing a polymer nanofiber containing silver nanoparticles is provided to increase the efficiency and stability of silver nanoparticle as an antibiotic material and simplify the manufacturing process. Silver ions are dissolved in a polyvinyl alcohol aqueous solution through strong magnetic stir, wherein the polyvinyl alcohol has molecular weight of 500-200,000. A radical initiator is inputted into the aqueous solution to induce reduction of the silver ions. Monomers are inputted into the aqueous solution to polymerize the monomers on surfaces of silver nanoparticles. A polymer nanofiber containing silver nanoparticles is collected from the polymerized product.
