A method for measuring the performance of a system in a wireless channel environment is provided to predict the effects of a timing jitter having on system performance previously and build a better countermeasure for deterioration in system performance by previously and approximately grasping the performance of a DS(Direct Sequence)-BPSK(Binary Phase Shift Keying) UWB(Ultra Wide Band) system in a Nakagami-m fading channel environment before configuring the DS-BPSK UWB system. A control part receives a signal transmitted through a Gaussian channel and a Nakagami-m fading channel and adds a timing jitter to the received signal(10). The control part obtains a conditional error probability using the received signal and the components of the Gaussian channel(12). The control part obtains an average error probability using the components of the Nakagami-m fading channel, the probability density function of the timing jitter, and the conditional error probability(14). The control part takes an average for an Gaussian-m probability density function and obtains the final average error probability(16). The control part measures the performance of a system, depending on the timing jitter, in a Nakagami-m fading channel environment using the final average error probability(18).
