An apparatus and a method for performing an automatic connection to a Bluetooth device in a mobile terminal are provided to provide transparency with respect to a process of automatically connecting to a Bluetooth by controlling environment variables, and reduce unnecessary power consumption. A storage unit(111) stores user set environment variables for performing a re-connection. When a connection is released while communicating with a Bluetooth device, a controller(101) controls a Bluetooth module(109) according to the environment variables. The Bluetooth module(109) performs a re-connection procedure with the Bluetooth device under the control of the controller(101). The environment variables include at least one of whether paging is allowed, a paging period, a paging priority and the number of limitation of paging. |
