A vacuum cleaner is provided to drive a dust removing member simply by having a handle movable up and down on a cleaner main body, a storage spring returning the handle to storing position and a power transmission unit linked with the vertical movement of the handle. A vacuum cleaner comprises a cleaner body, a filter, a dust removing member, a handle(200), a storage spring, and a power transmission unit(300A). The cleaner body includes a dust collector and an electric blower generating an intake negative pressure in the dust collector. The filter separates dust absorbed in the dust collector with air by the negative pressure. The dust removing member dumps the dust attached to the filter by vibrating the filter. The handle is mounted on the cleaner body to carry the cleaner body. The handle moves in a vertical direction between a storing position on a surface of the vacuum cleaner body at which the handle is stored and a using position to which the handle is lifted upward. The storage spring presses the handle to the storing position. The power transmission unit drives the dust removing member by linking with the vertical motion of the handle.
