A dish washer is provided to adjust informing volume to be suitable for requests of a user and operation environment by having an informing unit indicating the state of a main body and a volume control unit adjusting volume output by the informing unit. A dish washer comprises a main body(1), an informing unit(31), a volume control unit(35), a volume display, and a control unit(34). The main body has a washing tub. The informing unit indicates the state of the main body by making a sound. The volume control unit changes the volume output by the informing unit. The volume display shows the volume changed by the volume control unit. The control unit displays on the volume display that the volume starts to be changed, when the volume control unit is in operation. The control unit changes the display state of the volume control unit, and receives the change of the volume performed by the volume control unit, thereby changing the informing volume.
