Humidity and temperature of the storage space are regulated using a cold mist of nebulized water flowing into this space, and by cooling to a temperature below or equal to the freezing point of the water. A method for storing living agricultural or horticultural products, e.g. flower bulbs (12), comprises the following steps: (A) placing the products in the storage space during a storage period; (B) regulating the humidity in essentially the entire space during this period by allowing a cold mist of nebulized water mainly comprising very fine water droplets to flow into this space; (C) cooling the space to a temperature less than or equal to the freezing point of this water during this period; and (D) removing the products and making them available for cultivation at the end of the storage period. An independent claim is also included for the storage arrangement, comprising a sealable space, supports (11) for the products, a control system (3, 4, 8) using the above cold mist to regulate humidity, and a cooling system (2) for the space.
