A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce brightness deviation by generating different subfield data according to load rate of subfields. A load rate at respective subfields is calculated in plural image data inputted from outside during one frame(S510). A subfield having a first load rate range is determined(S520). At least one first image data, which the subfield having the first load rate range is utilized, are converted to subfield data using a first method. At least one second image data of image data other than the first image data among the plural image data are converted to subfield data using a second method different from the first method(S530-S550).
