A method for detecting ambient temperature of a vehicle using a filtering is provided to decrease an error rate, and to increase the information exchanging reliability for the ambient temperature sensor by connecting the sensors through a CAN(Controller Area Network). A sensor control part judges the present vehicle speed sensed from a vehicle speed sensor in low and high speeds according to the set reference value(S23). The ambient temperature is recognized by increasing and decreasing the predetermined temperature correction value to the sensed value of the ambient temperature sensed by the ambient temperature sensor according to the judgment result(S26-S29). The stable temperature increase rate or the variable temperature increase rate is applied to the ambient temperature sensed value when the ambient temperature rises. The stable temperature increase rate is applied to the ambient temperature sensed value when the ambient temperature drops.
