The device has an elastically deformable membrane (5) made of an elastomeric material and integrated to an inner side rail (10) of a motor vehicle. The deformable membrane closes an opening of the side rail. The membrane has an external shape same as that of the opening and has a peripheral edge fixed on a corresponding peripheral edge of the opening. A towing ring (16) is displaced toward the side rail by penetrating into the opening and deforms the membrane in a space delimited by the side rail, when a bump is applied on the ring or during mounting of the ring on the vehicle.
