The mattress has two portions (1, 2), where each portion includes end parts (4, 5) respectively adjacent to a bend line (3). The end parts form an inclined plane such that the thickness of the end parts (4, 5) decreases toward an end of the portions. The bend line is situated in a greater thickness zone of the end part (4) of the portion (1), and in a less thickness zone of the end part (5) of the portion (2). An independent claim is also included for a bed that includes a mattress.
