An ion exchange apparatus and a method for controlling the same are provided to increase the reliability of a regenerating operation and simplify the constitution of a salt water supply device. An ion exchange apparatus(1) comprises a resin bed receiving part(2) for receiving an ion exchange resin bed(5), a flow passage controlling valve(3) for switching between a water flowing operation and a regenerating operation, and a salt water tank(40) for storing salt water used for regeneration. The flow passage controlling valve is connected to the salt water tank through a salt water supply line(31). A flux sensing unit(48) is installed on the salt water supply line, wherein the flux sensing unit senses a flux in a direction of supplying salt water and a flux in a direction of supplying refill water. |
