The rack (2) has a lower wall (8) delimiting the rack and visible from a cabin of an aircraft. The wall has a rear panel (16) with a series of slits each forming an opening and spaced on the length of the wall, where the opening is closed by a window made of a transparent material such as synthetic material. An inner face of the wall has an electroluminescent sheet (32) for lighting an interior of the rack.
