A device for controlling the supplemental torque for steering a vehicle comprises a torque sending device(101), a yaw rate sensing device(103), an EPS(Electric power system, 107) controller receiving the signals from the torque sensing device, and another EPS controller(105) receiving the yaw rate signals from the yaw rate sensing device, and a motor(109) driven by the EPS controller(107). The ESP controller(105) receives signals from the yaw rate sensing devices and determines whether the vehicle is in an over steering state or in an under steering state or not, and transmits the control signal to the EPS controller(107). A pressure sensing device(201) is provided, and the EPS controller(105) receive a signal from the pressure sensing device to determine whether the reactive force of the steering is large or small, and transmits the control signal to the EPS controller(107). The EPS controller(105) determines whether the vehicle is over steered or under steered from the yaw rate signal and the pressure signal, and sets the supplemental torque for countering the steering reaction force and transmits the control signal to the EPS controller(107). The EPS controller(107) then drives the motor according to the control signal.
