The toaster has heating elements arranged near a heat chamber. A driving system (20) has a release lever (204) permitting to close an electric supply circuit of the elements via an electronic card (300) during passage from high position to low position of the system. A bread carriage is movable in order to space slices of a bread from the elements at the end of roasting, where the movement of the system is disassociated from the movement of the carriage. The system slides toward the top at the end of heating cycle.
