A digital processing device and an additional service providing method using the same are provided to enable a user of the digital processing device to receive an additional service without registering in a predetermined telecommunication provider by including an additional service recognizing module and enable an additional service provider to provide the additional service irrespective of the telecommunication provider. An input part(210) receives a signal, and a member recognizer(250) stores a telecommunication provider ID code and generates a network access request message. An additional service recognizer(260) stores an additional service provider ID code and generates an additional service request message. A controller(240) generates a control signal for enabling one of the member or additional service recognizer to be selectively operated by a selection signal received from the input part. The member recognizer stores member authentication and billing information for the telecommunication provider. One of the member and additional service recognizer is an external device having a chip or card type.
