The assembly has an electrode membrane assembly (2) tightly held between two anodic and cathodic bipolar half-plates (6, 6`), where the half-plates have ribs (8, 8`) intended to ensure an electrical contact with the electrode membrane assembly. Electric conducting components (9, 9`) have elasticity along their thickness to ensure the electrical contact between the half-plates and the electrode membrane assembly. A reactive zone of the electrode membrane assembly is tightly held by a peripheral rigid frame (10).
