摘要 An optical waveguide of a PCB(Printed Circuit Board) and a forming method thereof are provided to improve the surface roughness of a core by directly treating the core through heat, thereby eliminating the scattering loss of light generated from the interface between the core formed in the optical waveguide and a clad. A method for forming an optical waveguide of a PCB comprises the following steps of: stacking a PDMS(Polydimethylsiloxane) stamp(10) having an optical waveguide mold groove, on a lower clad(20); filling up the stacked clad with core materials by vertical gradient and capillary force; air-tightly charging the inside of the clad with a core(30) by applying vibration through an UV(Ultrasonic) wave; hardening the core by exposing it to the clad filled with the core; and preparing lamination of an upper clad by removing the PDMS stamp if the core is cured.
