A disc device is provided to precisely clamp a disc automatically loaded by driving two kinds of discs with different diameters such as a large diameter disc of a disc type and a small diameter disc. A disc device comprises a clamp head(9) and a spindle motor(11). The clamp head is vertically moved plural times to execute a clamping operation of a disc by repeating the forward and backward movements of a loading slider. The spindle motor for rotating the clamp head at a proper time of period before and/or after the loading slider is moved in the reverse direction during the clamping operation is driven by driving force previously set according to the kind of the inserted disc and to rotate the disc at a predetermined angle. The disc device unloads the disc received in the device to the outside of the device or loads the disc inserted by a plurality of arms capable of returning for supporting outer peripheries of two kinds of the discs with different diameters to the inside of the device.
