An air-conditioning system and a control method thereof are provided to increase an operation area and driving efficiency by including a compressor unit consisting of plural compressors and selectively supplying gas refrigerant to the compressors. An air-conditioning system comprises a phase separator(500), an evaporator(600), a plurality of compressors(100, 1000), and a gas refrigerant control unit. The phase separator separates gas refrigerant and liquid refrigerant from supplied refrigerant. The evaporator evaporates the liquid refrigerant separated by the phase separator. The plural compressors include first and second compressors having a first compressing part receiving the refrigerant via the evaporator and a second compressing part receiving the gas refrigerants separated by the phase separator and the refrigerant passed through the first compressing part. The gas refrigerant control unit controls flow of gas refrigerant to the plural compressors.
