#CMT# #/CMT# The protector has a protective sheath (4) with a rigid cylindrical tubular part made of a light permeable material. A sleeve support (20) connects a flexible sleeve to the sheath, where the sheath has outer diameter of 4mm. The part is treated so as to guide the light from a light source at its proximal end to the source`s distal end. The distal end has a diffusing spacer for diffusing and/or orienting the light guided through the part, where the spacer is mounted inside an angular correction lens. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Used in a medical field, for a video endoscope (claimed), for illuminating and examining a cavity in a patient`s body for a diagnostic or therapeutic purpose. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The diffusing spacer of the distal end diffuses and/or orients the light guided through the rigid cylindrical tubular part, thus permitting the light to reach a zone to be examined by the endoscope in the body of the patient and permitting better guiding of the light. The protective sheath has outer diameter of 4mm, thus facilitating the sheath and the endoscopic rod of endoscope to be easily inserted in the body of the patient. The protective sheath and the flexible sleeve permit to protect the patient from contamination and facilitate the operation of the video endoscope.
