<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflective liquid crystal display device which has luminance on a display face side enhanced by reflecting light with a high reflectivity. <P>SOLUTION: In the reflective liquid crystal display device, an incident light reflecting plate 14 provided on the side opposite from a display face of a liquid crystal cell 12 has faces other than a light incidence face 14a, covered with a light diffusing mirror having a high reflectivity for inward reflection and is made of a transparent material having a higher refractive index than air. Light which is repeatedly diffused and reflected up to an incidence angle within a critical angular range to the light incidence face and is emitted from the incident light reflecting plate to the liquid crystal cell side is intensified with a normal direction of the display face as the center, whereby luminance on the display face side is enhanced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
