METHOD AND DEVICE FOR EVALUATING SIMILARITY OF SPEECH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve tolerance to noise for similarity evaluation of a speech using an inter-band correlation matrix.

SOLUTION: A feature quantity comparison part 36 performs similarity calculation processing in which an (n)th row and an (n)th column of one of an inter-band correlation matrix A of an input speech generated by a feature quantity extraction part 34 and an inter-and correlation matrix B read out by a registered information selection part 35 are substituted in the other or (n)th rows and (n)th columns are removed from both the inter-band correlation matrixes A and B to calculate the similarity D between both the inter-band correlation matrixes A and B after the substitution or removal. Then an authentication result output part 37 performs authentication based upon how many times the similarity D exceeds a threshold th 1 in similarity calculation processing carried out for every (n).
